The babies are venturing off. They are probably confused because their natural habitat is in reed ponds and lakes.

Happy 4th of July!

They had these exhibits along the way, Jack took to the drums quickly.

The safari hike was over a mile long and we don't do strollers. All of us were pretty tired, but it was worth it.

Jack really likes zebras.

Giraffes are my favorite animals. I think Jack and I could have stayed there all day feeding them.

The weather was overcast and cool, so all the animals were out and playing around.

For the 4th we went to Battle Creek Mich. to their zoo. They have a great safari walk and you get to feed the giraffes. How cool.

Here is an updated picture of one of the baby birds in our backyard. We think they are American Bitterns. They are related to the heron family.

We also had to convince the kids that a "slip and slide" is fun also. We are still recovering, but successful.

So, I had to give it a try.

It didn't take long.
